In September, 2021 the TripTech team applied for the Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) Road Trip Innovation Challenge to create a digital solution that improves the tourism and road trip experience throughout New South Wales.
Using TfNSW open data to develop a distinct digital product, TripTech’s proposal included a unique set of features targeting travellers, especially those in the road tripping market across the TripTech network of travel apps.
The newly launched road trip map overlays allow NSW’s tourist drives to appear as an additional feature across the app network to reach millions of travellers. This builds visitation along tourist routes to enhance the digital presence of businesses and regions. It also provides travellers with functionality to explore a menu of road trips while planning or as a companion to use en route.
The map overlays are easily accessible via the yellow icon in the upper left-hand side of the CamperMate map screen for independent travellers and roadtrippers including families, retirees, young travellers, digital nomads and adventures to enjoy.
